We were able to go "out of town" on a stay-cation to the Sheraton in Salt Lake. It was a fun weekend and so good to get away! We went up on Friday afternoon and got there at a little after 3pm. Once we got there, we walked around the hotel for a few minutes to figure out what was going on and where things were! They had a nice outdoor swimming pool, a fun huge checkerboard, and a nice room for us on the 9th floor.
We went to dinner at Iggy's sports grill since both of us were hungry fairly early. We were surprised at how un-busy they were since we didn't have to wait at all to be seated. We went back to the hotel and I challenged Adam to a game of checkers on their huge board. After beating him 6 times in a row, he kept wanting to play - trying to beat me... He finally did but it took a few hours. We ended up playing checkers all night long; who would have thought?
The next day, we slept in for a bit, went to breakfast at Denny's just down the street, and then we went to the Gateway mall because I wanted to go to the planetarium and Adam wanted to show me where he was going to be working at Fidelity. We walked and window shopped through Gateway for the rest of the afternoon. We found a great set of golf clubs for Adam but decided to wait until after he starts at Fidelity to purchase them. They were very reasonably priced and even came with a golf bag. We took a look at the ipad (pretty cool) and found a great pair of dress pants for me at Express. Too bad we just went window shopping! :)
We had dinner at Rumbi Grill and then went and saw Eclipse to round off the evening. About halfway through Eclipse, I started getting a most horrible headache and then started feeling pretty nauseated. By the time the movie was over, I was feeling pretty horrible. Adam got me back to the hotel, got me a drink and went across the street to McDonalds to get me some chicken strips since we have pretty much decided that I was likely either dehydrated or had a touch of heatstroke.
It pretty well knocked me out today but I'm finally feeling much better! It was so fun to get away with my hubby! I wish we could do this much more often. It was such a nice weekend to be together.
How fun to be able to get away just the two of you for the weekend!
ReplyDeleteTell Adam congrats on the new job!
This is one of our favorite "stay-cations"! Chuck and I often surprise each other on special occassions and book a stay at Little America and then spend our extra time at the Gateway. We love to shop, eat, and go to the movie as well!! Glad that you had such a nice time!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the job! That is so exciting!!
