Adam has been sick for the past few days. It started out with him just throwing up one time but then the next day he was running fevers! I have been trying to take care of him while totally avoiding having him get me sick. Whatever he has is not a fun thing!
He stayed home from work yesterday so that he could get some rest. He went to take a shower so that he could feel a little more human and get his fever down. We usually start the shower so that we can let it warm up before we get in and it sounded like a waterfall after a couple of minutes. He thought, "that's not right," and so went in to check. Lo and behold, there was a lot of water in the bottom of the shower and getting deeper! Luckily, I had showered at the gym that morning and so I didn't get to experience the backed-up drain pipe. He then spent the next few hours trying to the the drain unclogged - he poured Drain-o down it, tried using the plunger, got a pipe snake from his Dad and some other drain un-clogger materials.
Finally, with the standing water stubbornly still sitting in the bottom of the shower, he called the plumber. They said they'd be there in 30 minutes.
Three hours later, the drain unclogged itself - YAY for Drain-o! - and the plumbers still hadn't shown! He called and cancelled with them and then tried to get all the rest of the gunk out of the drain so it wouldn't clog up again. Poor Adam didn't get much rest yesterday.
